New Music Video, ‘Roses for Ruins’ Single

Lief Hall releases “Roses for Ruins”, the first single from her upcoming album due out this April 2018. The song will be released both digitally and as a cassette tape along with a new music video directed by Lief Hall and Julia Hutchings.

The “Roses for Ruins” music video was shot in Lilooet BC during the forest fires in the summer of 2017 and features dirt biker Angela Kuprel. Shot DIY-style with Julia Hutchings on camera and Lief Hall helping to lug gear up the mountains, the video is a creative collaboration which explores the surreal landscape of small town life.
Previously a member of electronic duo MYTHS and no wave trio Mutators, Lief Hall began her solo project while living in Berlin in 2014, integrating dark electronic production with layered vocal harmonies. Recorded at The Noise Floor on Gabriola Island, “Roses for Ruins” marks a new direction for Lief’s solo work, integrating acoustic instrumentation through her
collaboration with drummer Byron Peters and harp player Elisa Thorn.

Lief Hall will be releasing her new single on Friday January 19th at the Western Front, playing alongside Kellarissa, The Nausea and Matthew Ariaratnam. “Roses for Ruins” will be available for listening and download on Lief Hall’s bandcamp page, and as a cassette tape release with digital download at live events.
